About Us

LumberIQ was created in 1993 by Steve Getsiv while working for Oregon-Canadian Forest Products. Using bleeding edge technology (for 1993) the LumberIQ client server package was originally built in PowerBuilder 3 and Microsoft / Sybase SQL Server running on Windows NT. LumberIQ is owned by SG Technology LLC.

LumberIQ has evolved over the years to become a full featured production, remanufacturing, wholesale lumber and e-commerce system. The PowerBuilder platform is still used for the Windows 11 compatible desktop version. Reporting in PowerBI has become the standard since 2019. And the LumberIQ database serves as back end for our ASP.NET and MVC Core website applications.

About Us

Efficient Design

The greatest feature of LumberIQ is its ability to handle units of random length lumber quickly and efficiently. LumberIQ includes integrated inventory control, purchasing and receiving, sales orders, invoices and credit memos. Invoices and credit memos are handed off to standard accounting systems such as Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics or Epicor.

Quick Insights

Answering the critical questions quickly regarding inventory levels, sales history, purchase information, tallies by location and more is at the heart of LumberIQ. Just a few clicks and you can get exactly the data you need to make intelligent decisions. How much do we have? What's the tally and where is it? What have we been selling it for? How much more do we have coming?

Tech Stack

Based on Microsoft SQL Server, the desktop version of LumberIQ is built with PowerBuilder, one of the leading database development tools from the early 1990's through today. Now with support for Windows 11. Our web based tools are built in ASP.NET Core MVC - a responsive design with Bootstrap CSS. PowerBI is supported with a set of easy to use composite database views for ease of use by non-IT users.

What we do best

In our opinion, LumberIQ rates pretty highly - Here's what we think!

  • Random Length Lumber 99%

  • Production Scheduling 80%
  • Historical Inventory Values 99%
  • Lumber Import Tracking & Costing 99%
